Horsley & Townsend: Swimming pool architects in Cheshire

Adding an indoor swimming pool to your home offers the perfect way to enhance your lifestyle and property. Considering an indoor pool is a big decision though and detailed planning is essential for the completion of a successful project. At Horsley & Townsend we work with clients in Cheshire and throughout the UK, helping them turn their ideas and aspirations into reality.

Indoor swimming pool design – what are the options?

The ideal swimming pool design for your property will depend on your home’s size, location and the amount of outdoor space available. Adding a pool extension connected to the house is a superb way to ensure easy access throughout the year, whilst a detached pool building is ideal if you’d prefer an additional place in which to relax and unwind. Insufficient outdoor space doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t add a pool to your home as it may be possible to design and install a basement pool conversion.

The indoor swimming pool design process

At Horsley & Townsend we work closely with our clients to create swimming pool designs to suit their home, budget and lifestyle. We’ll provide guidance on all aspects of the design of your indoor swimming pool; covering everything from it’s size and shape, through to exterior landscaping and interior fittings.

Our approach beings with an initial consultation meeting after which we’ll supply design visuals which will give you an understanding of what can be achieved. Then, once an overall design has been finalised with you, we’ll start work on the detailed drawings required for planning permission approval.

Thanks to our wide-ranging experience in designing swimming pools in varied locations, we have the expertise required to help you navigate through the planning process. In addition, our experience also applies to pool design projects in what might be perceived as challenging locations including National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Conservation Areas and Listed Buildings. Rest assured that we’ll make the process as stress free as possible by communicating regularly with you throughout the planning stages to ensure the end result meets your expectations.

Once planning permission has been received, we’ll tender for experienced contractors who have worked on previous indoor pool build and installation projects. In addition, we will also manage the process of applying for and meeting the relevant building regulations standards. Finally, once the build stage of your project is underway, we’ll continue to provide our support and expertise through regular on-site visits and inspections.
